Mag encoded cards extra character removal
Erik
Most, if not all mag strip cards are encoded with leading and trailing characters - called prefixes and suffixes. Examples would be ";" and "?". These characters are naturally part of the mag encoding process and help certain types of software determine where and what kind of data is being read off the mag strip.

For GåvaEL this can pose a problem when customers use the Online Balance Check (OBC) and the "extra characters" are not stripped away.

In, order for this GåvaEL to function correctly and strip out this extra information encoded on the cards you must access your Online Control Panel (OCP) than click on the Accounts tab - partially down the page you will see the option to strip prefix and suffix data enter the characters to strip off the encoded information in the appropriate boxes. Click on submit and remember to restart your Client Software (the software running on your station).

When cards are now scanned the prefix and suffix will still show up in the Enter Number or Swipe Card box, however, when you hit enter or the Go button the information will be stripped from the number.
